Mr. Devin Canaday

Mr. Devin Canaday was born and raised in Williamsburg. He began interpreting Black history as a youth interpreter at Colonial Williamsburg. He worked for ten years in this capacity and, in his final three years, he guided teachers nationwide in developing classroom materials focused on Black colonial history.

Mr. Canaday pursued a career for more than a decade as a professional engineer with a tier-1 defense contractor and has over 20 years of experience as an educator. He has combined these passions for STEM and education through multiple businesses, including The STEMpreneur.

Mr. Canaday is a member of The Local Black Histories Project Community Advisory Board. In this video, he discusses the importance of sharing local Black histories.
