The Harbron Research Lab

Organic Photochemistry at William & Mary

We develop photoresponsive organic systems for fluorescence, sensitization of photochemical reactions, and the generation of reactive oxygen species.

Dr. Elizabeth J. Harbron

Elizabeth is a physical organic chemist interested in photoresponsive systems with a focus on fluorescence. She earned a B.A. in Chemistry and Gender & Women's Studies from Grinnell College and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After a postdoctoral fellowship with Paul Barbara at the University of Texas at Austin, she joined the William & Mary faculty in 2002. She currently serves as the Gottwald Professor of Chemistry and the Director of William & Mary's Charles Center.
