This competition was to expand the principal art museum in central Lima, and to create a new plaza that serves as the entrance to an important park. We proposed a very simple, open plaza with a clear pathway from a nearby metro station to the park entrance. A new museum entry pavilion is positioned to receive visitors from within the park and the plaza. The education wing hugs the street, and a sunken courtyard allows light into the new galleries below the plaza.
