At the end of February 2021, the VCCS upgraded our Student Information System (SIS) to version 9.2. This new version supports a brand new interface option called "Fluid". This VCCS Fluid project uses the opportunity presented by this new interface option to work to improve the experience of students, faculty, and staff using our SIS, so that they can accomplish their tasks more efficiently and flexibly.
Fluid uses a responsive design approach that presents services such as Self-Service and the Student Center with a unified appearance across screens and devices of all sizes. Whether viewed on a desktop, phone, or tablet, fluid design automatically organizes, scales and displays pages appropriately.
The FLUID Project has entered Phase 2 with a release scheduled for early November. Phase 2 focuses on enhancing the SIS experience for users whose primary role is that of Faculty and/or Advisor. Updates to the FLUID Public Class Search will also be completed. Finally, work has been started to transition several ‘Classic’ SIS pages to their new FLUID version.
Schedule & Rosters Tile – bringing a calendar view of a class schedule to the front of the tile.
Navigate Tile – linked tile will be set to either user preferences, or give Navigate options based on where the faculty is actively teaching.
Additional Tiles created as needed/requested.
