Perhaps more than anything, I seek balance in my life.

Over the past five years, my artwork has been anything but that – a reflection of my ongoing personal struggles. The challenge I set up for myself was to use artistic expression to channel the chaos of my life to attain that balance.

I have chosen to paint weeds growing in my garden, as well as plants I have accidentally killed, in a style similar to botanical illustration. The process of creating beautiful images from unwanted or undesirable forms of plant life gives me just the right mix of pleasure and tension.
