ABOUT
Virginia's Community Colleges play a pivotal role in reducing the shortage of healthcare workers in Virginia. The Chancellor believes that we must continue to lead the development of innovative solutions. To that end, the VCCS will host a Healthcare Summit in partnership with the Secretary of Health and Human Resources, the Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association, the Claude Moore Foundation, the Virginia Healthcare Association & Virginia Center for Assisted Living, the Virginia Dental Association, and the Virginia Chamber of Commerce.

In order to make real progress toward resolving workforce challenges the Commonwealth faces, the Healthcare Summit seeks to obtain the support of healthcare organizations and partners in preparation for legislative asks to support healthcare program offerings by Virginia’s Community Colleges. The Summit will highlight what the VCCS is already doing and how we can scale appropriately in creating healthcare programs and pipelines across the Commonwealth and across the healthcare spectrum (nursing, allied health, dental, and behavioral health). Participants will be asked to work collaboratively to develop plans to improve accessibility and quality of healthcare programs on a regional basis.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Healthcare Agencies, Employers, and Advocacy Groups; College Presidents and Vice Presidents; VCCS Deans of Nursing and Health Sciences; and Key Stakeholders.

COST
There is no registration fee to attend. Virginia's Community Colleges System Office is covering meeting expenses.
