Join your colleagues on June 11 and 12, 2026, for the Functional Technology (aka "Funky Tech") Summit. This event is specifically designed for student-facing and front-line staff to enhance their technological skills. Through interactive workshops and expert-led sessions, you’ll discover innovative ways to streamline processes, improve communication, and foster a cohesive environment.

Thanks to funding from the VCCS Student Success Center, registration and lunches are covered! Please note there is a registration cap, so secure your spot early.

Registration Details

Cost: No registration fee.
No-Show Policy: A $50 fee will be applied for registered attendees who do not attend.
Meals: Lunches during sessions will be provided for all attendees.

Lodging Eligibility

Reimbursement is based on the distance from your home campus to Weyers Cave:

115+ miles: Up to 2 nights (June 10 & 11).
50 – 115 miles: Up to 1 night (June 11).
Under 50 miles: Lodging is not covered.

Your To-Do List

Register: Complete the Online Form by May 1.
Reserve your hotel following your college’s standard procedures. Be sure to ask for the state rate; nothing above the state rate will be reimbursable. You can find the current rates here: GSA Per Diem Rates. View lodging options here.
Pre-approval: Complete your Emburse Enterprise pre-approval.
Submit Dept Code: Provide the department code used for your pre-approval during registration. If this is not submitted by May 4th, we cannot process your lodging reimbursement, and you will need to work directly with your college for funding.

Frequently Asked Questions

What rate is reimbursed? Reimbursement follows the GSA per diem lodging rate (including taxes).

Does this cover mileage? No. This funding covers lodging and lunches during the conference only. Other travel expenses should follow your college's standard travel policies.

Who can I contact with questions? Reach out to the Student Success Center at studentsuccesscoaching@vccs.edu.

How does reimbursement work? You follow your college’s usual travel procedures (Emburse). The Student Success Center will reimburse your college directly for the lodging; your college will then reimburse you.
