Thesaurus is an online publication that is not credible, it is primarily used by people looking for synonyms of words, and they do not have an author listed. Since there is no author listed or no availability of where the information provided came from. Thesaurus was able to give me good synonyms that I compared to some of the definitions I was provided from other websites. However; the website is still not credible even though I fact checked some of the synonyms. Thesaurus provided synonyms such as “federation, nation, and society” for Commonwealth.
Real Example
The modern Commonwealth took place in 1949. Commonwealth nations declare themselves as free and equal members where they are freely cooperating an aiming for progress, peace, and liberty. Over 2 billion people are considered Commonwealth citizens from bigger places such as India to the smaller places such as Nauru. Modernizing the Commonwealth has helped keep focus on the respect of core values and the importance of democracy. This is now becoming an important institution that countries are wanting to join, and it’s allowing countries to join together and become stronger than before.

Fiction Example
I found an article about a book called Commonwealth by Ann Patchett. Two main characters, Bert Cousins and Beverly Keating, they ended up cheating on their spouses and marrying each other. The book revolves around the children of Bert and Beverly who are now blended together into one big family due to the new marriage. This tale shows symbolism towards political resonances by showing the union of a broken family which can be compare to the reunion of a broken America.
