About the Presenter
Cynthia Duncan currently serves state employees as a CommonHealth Wellness Consultant. She has over 20 years’ experience in the nutrition, fitness, and wellness industry working in both the public sector and private corporations. Cynthia completed her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Exercise at Virginia Tech, and her Master of Science in Community Health Education at Old Dominion University. She is a certified fitness instructor through the Athletics and Fitness Association of America and National Academy for Sports Medicine, and is a certified nutrition coach through the National Academy for Sports Medicine. Cynthia enjoys helping state employees reach their health goals through participation in CommonHealth programs and challenges!
Join Certified Meditation Instructor Angela Deen as she leads you in mindfulness meditation. During this session, we will come together in community, sharing in connection while practicing ways to stay present and grounded amidst the ebb and flow of life.
About the Presenter
Angela is the founder and owner of Hush Meditation and Yoga Studio- providing live, online group classes and private sessions in mindfulness education and application, yoga, meditation, and breathwork. Angela helps her clients connect into their own innate source of gratitude, joy, compassion, and peace so that they may then ripple these same qualities outward to their family, friends, and community.
Angela has dedicated her life to the study and application of mindfulness. She studies under the teachings of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh and has practiced at two of his monasteries in the United States. She has completed the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction training (MBSR) created by Jon Kabat-Zinn and is currently in Gabor Maté’s Compassionate Inquiry program. Angela is an E-RYT 500 (an experienced 500-hour yoga teacher registered with Yoga Alliance) that specializes in providing safe and accessible yoga to all folks. Additionally, she is a Certified Meditation Instructor. With her extensive knowledge in yoga, she applies her somatic understanding into the application of mindfulness by teaching ways to intentionally shift our nervous system from states of fight-flight-freeze-fawn to states of peace, rest, and ease thus allowing for greater presence and efficiency in our daily endeavors.

About the Presenter
Lynn is the dedicated Behavioral Health and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) resource for the Commonwealth of Virginia account. Lynn has an extensive background in the behavioral health, EAP, and governmental programs. She is passionate about eliminating the stigma around behavioral health needs and expanding access to care. She was instrumental in implementing LiveHealth Online EAP for Anthem. Lynn has been in the behavioral healthcare field since 1985. She began her career as a mental health counselor and intake assessor for an acute inpatient and residential child and adolescent treatment facility. Her career then progressed to include behavioral health provider relations and contracting, vendor contracting, call center management, practice management and program and project management. Lynn was thrilled to bring her diverse background and relationship management skills to the dedicated Commonwealth of Virginia account management team when the client decided to integrate behavioral health and EAP services with the health plan effective July 1, 2013. Lynn received a dual degree in psychology and sociology from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. She has worked with Anthem for over 20 years. Another passion of Lynn’s is cooking with her husband and entertaining their adult children, family and friends with new recipes and techniques.
