Mission
This master's program is designed to provide training for professionals from both the public and private sectors. Our mission is to equip students with professional and practical knowledge in agricultural business management, foster partnerships and collaborations with industry, and promote independent research. The program enhances students' competence in agricultural industry management by integrating theory with practical training into the development of agricultural businesses.
Curriculum
The major required courses encompass Agricultural Business Management, Agricultural Economy, Production Control, Agri-tourism, Research Methodology, and Agricultural Business Case Study.
The core courses include Farm management and service, Students gain professional knowledge and develop capabilities in problem-solving, logical thinking, effective communication, and teamwork. Our program provides training for future leaders in agribusiness field.
Core Research Topics
Agricultural Business Management: The courses introduce basic concepts and theories related to management. Students gain a fundamental understanding of business management and become familiar with how to apply these concepts to practical work in agricultural businesses.
The courses enhance students' abilities in planning, organization, leadership, and management.
Students learn how the enterprises operates in agricultural business sectors ,including human resources, marketing, production, customer service, and accounting.
Farm Management: Courses help students to acquire fundamental and comprehensive knowledge of farming business management.
Students will learn the operation modes of different types of farms through field trips to various farm operators.
Food Processing Management: Courses introduce techniques used for agricultural products processing. Those include principles of hot/cold preservation, concentration and dehydration, irradiation, and microwave heating.
International Agricultural Business: Courses introduce the foundation and strategic execution procedures of international enterprises management. Students learn how multinational enterprises execute strategies, and ethical issues related to strategic operation, as such students will be better equipped with international views of agricultural business operation and gain greater capability of applying theories to practices in a rapidly changing global environments.
Achievements
The main goal of this Program is to train domestic Agricultural Business elites, and to implement extension education by cross-field academic research experts at the University. This program emphasizes on the applications of agricultural and natural resources and research trends. including policy development, advertisements and marketing of agricultural products, agricultural business management, rural recreation and tourism development.
This professional master program was founded in 2011. 175 students have graduated as of 2024.
All the students trained by this program perform exceptionally well in their jobs. Three of them are currently pursuing their doctoral degree, and a few started their own business related to agriculture. An alumni association was established on October 18, 2014, to build better connections among all students to foster mutual partnership and cooperation.
