Just because we’re away from school, doesn’t mean you can’t keep your writing muscles growing. There are lots of ways to be a writer. Some writers are story writers. They write stories about their lives, or they write stories that they imagine in their heads! Some writers write poems and songs. Other writers write books to teach people about topics that interest them. You are a writer when you do any of these things! You’re also a writer when you make lists, or create recipes, or write letters, or postcards, or cards for friends and family.
Every time you sit down to write, you become a stronger writer. Writing is a skill that you have to practice, just like soccer and basketball, and reading. The more you do it, the better you become.
This summer, be sure to check out the writing menu created just for you! There are lots of resources for our entire K-5 community. Click the image to get started!
