Snow Days

  • The hope is to keep the rotation as intact as possible throughout the year.

  • We are proposing that when we close for weather, we allow for 1 small disruption by running the day in the rotation that was scheduled for the snow day and skip the next day in the rotation.

  • This proposal also allows us to get back into the rotation without disrupting the entire cycle or future scheduled events including include IEP/ 504 meetings, field trips, special programs, speakers, and other school special events.

  • Skipping the scheduled day after the snow will allow teachers and students to leave the building prepared for the next day in the rotation regardless of the weather.

snow day example

  • Monday, December 13, 2021 is a Day 5. We leave that day with our materials for Tuesday, December 14, 2021, which is scheduled to be a Day 6.

  • It snows and school is cancelled on Tuesday, December 14, 2021.

  • When school reopens on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 originally scheduled to be a Day 7 the day is now scheduled to be a Day 6.

  • Thursday, December 16, 2021 is a Day 8 and puts us back on schedule.

  • Therefore, it is Day 7 that is dropped from the schedule for the snow day.

  • Day 7 will be made up later during an X, Y, or Z day at the end of the semester.
