In 2021, the School Committee voted to approve a change in the Medfield High School schedule to a 7+FLEX block schedule. 7+FLEX will be implemented in the 2021-22 school year.
Students take continue to take seven courses, with five classes per day- over an 8-day period.
FLEX block is broken into FLEX1 and FLEX2-FLEX5.
FLEX1 is an advisory period where students will meet with the same teacher for all four years at MHS.
FLEX2-FLEX5 gives students the opportunity to work with their teachers on course content, areas of concern, and new ideas or interests.
Each class is approximately 65 minutes long.
The flexibility of 7+FLEX allows for a student to receive a deeper level of support, advice and enrichment from teachers and administrators. Students also have advisory time with the same teacher and group of students that furthers the personalized attention they receive and the sense of connection to the school they experience.
