Because Apple changed the way Student Apple IDs function, families providing their own iPads must decide how to have the school apps added to their child's iPad (leased and borrowed iPads are automatically enrolled in the MDM). Families have two choices:
Students whose iPads are registered in the MDM do not need an Apple ID for school apps. All school apps will be pushed out directly to their devices. Click here for instructions on how to prep your child's iPad for MDM registration.
FAMILIES USING AN APPLE ID
If you choose to use an Apple ID, you will need to create one for your child (if they do not have one already). We recommend that you create a non-credit card account. Directions to do this can be found here.
For families who opt to use a personal Apple ID, the student will be responsible for downloading all the apps, free and paid. Students will be given a code at school for paid apps. A list of free apps that can be downloaded can be found here.
