Welcome to Thomas Blake Middle School!  We hope you are having a wonderful summer and are excited to get back into the school routine. Your teachers are ready for the challenge and looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Below is a list of items we suggest your child has for the school year. Please reach out to your child's school counselor or Nat Vaughn should your family need support purchasing these resources.

Organizational system to store 5 subjects

We recommend:

• 1.5-2" Binder (zippered optional)

• 5 Subject dividers

• 1 Homework folder

• Pencil case

• Pencils

• Headphones/earbuds (with microphone)

• Reusable Water Bottle (labelled with name)

• 4-function calculator (with square root function)

6th Grade Chorus

• 1/2 in or 1 in 3-ring binder with pockets

6th Grade Band

• 20 sheet music page protectors

• a pack of mechanical pencils

• a 3 ring pencil bag to store pencils in binder, 

• 1/2 black binder (with clear view front pocket)

• Woodwinds - 1 box of reeds

• Brass - valve oil/slide grease

• Percussion - stick bag

6th Grade Orchestra

• One twin-pocket folder - any color

• Method Book

  • Grade 6 & 7 : String Basics Book 2

  • Grade 8: String Basics Book 3

• Clip on Tuner: Violin/Viola or Cello/Bass

• Shoulder Rest (Violin/Viola) -Everest Shoulder Rest
