Kacie Mennie, PhD
Dr. Mennie is originally from Michigan. She is a first-generation college student and obtained her B.A. in Psychology at the University of Michigan-Dearborn before traveling down the bayou. She received her M.A. and Ph.D. in Psychology at Louisiana State University. She is interested in how long-term memories are constructed, stored, and retrieved. She is also interested in the interplay between attention, VWM, and VLTM. In a weird turn of COVID-19 events, she has been bit by the decision making bug and also researches the impact of misinformation on social media on memory, beliefs, and decision making.
She currently teaches Research Design and Statistics I (PSYC 315) and II (PSYC 415), Parapsychology (PSYC 303), Learning & Cognition (PSYC 320), and a smattering of stats classes.
In her spare time she likes to read, do yoga, cook, cross-stitch, and walk her dogs Kizzy and Rougie. She also enjoys hanging out with her two cats (Sunshine and Trav), and the guinea pig (Notorious P.I.G.) she found in her backyard.
