Winning Pitch: The Jim Perry Story: Forging Success from the Ballfield to the Boardroom
6pm–8pm
Oscar N. Harris Student Union Ballroom
Join us as Brad Kullman, author of Winning Pitch: The Jim Perry Story: Forging Success from the Ballfield to the Boardroom, shares more about the Campbell legend who played baseball for Campbell from 1956-1959 before pitching in the majors for 17 seasons, winning the American League Cy Young Award, playing in three MLB All Star Games, and being inducted in the NC Sports Hall of Fame, the Minnesota Twins Hall of Fame, and the CU Hall of Fame. Perry, for whom Campbell’s baseball stadium is named, will attend and sign copies of the biography after the dinner.
At the dinner, enjoy
A special ballpark-inspired meal
A chance to take home a player-signed baseball
Baseball-themed crafts for youngsters (and the young at heart)
The opportunity to support Campbell Libraries through a raffle for a Perry-signed baseball
The launch of a Friends of the Library fundraiser for an Archival Reading Room: https://fundraise.givesmart.com/vf/READINGROOM
Prior to the game on Friday, March 31, 2023,
Campbell Baseball officially retired Jim Perry's No. 31,
the first number to be retired by the program.
