Welcome,
My name is Travis Frank and I am an aspiring educator from Tucson, Arizona. My history in school is not the smoothest, diagnosed with several learning disabilities and struggling my way through in the beginning. My early school life was that of overcoming adversity and classroom difficulties. This experience, however, led me to have a strong sense of what students could do, having gone from a 3rd grade reading level to an on-reading level 8th grade level in only 3 years. My goal is to provide the same opportunity that I was provided, to all students. In 2008, I was made the only student member of any Arizona state transition team and made a presentation on the benefits of student led IEP. In 2009, I was awarded the state’s Youth and Young Adult Post-Secondary Transition Services Award, and in 2010 I was published in CHADD’s Attention Magazine.
I hold an Associates in General Studies and Bachelors of Sciences in Psychology. I have also passed the Middle Grade Math NES Test and hope to bring age old and well researched mathematic practices with newer and psychologically proven learning techniques in the fields of Human Memory and Cognitive Science. In this I hope to open the minds of children to their fullest potential, making learning fun, nothing is less fun that thinking you can’t do something, and deeply encoded.
