Featuring Rachel Castro (Assistant Librarian, Fine Arts Library) and Lisa Duncan (Assistant Librarian/Collections Management Archivist, Special Collections) this session will introduce and discuss different search strategies for physical archives. Participants will learn more about navigating and searching the archives, including the services available while archives are impacted by the pandemic. During this presentation, we will also cover how archival research adds value to courses and how to integrate archives visits into your class.
Rachel Castro is an Assistant Librarian in the Research & Learning department of the University of Arizona Libraries. She assists with the research, instruction, and other needs of students, staff, and faculty in the College of Fine Arts and the College of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape Architecture.
Lisa E. Duncan is the Collections Management Archivist and Instruction Coordinator at the University of Arizona Libraries, Special Collections. She has a MA in Information Resources and Library Science and BA in Anthropology and History from the University of Arizona. She is also a Certified Archivist and holds a Digital Archives Specialist certificate from the Society of American Archivists.
