PURPOSE

With the financial support of The Longview Foundation, the Worlds of Experience (WE) will build and provide K-12 educators the opportunity to collaboratively construct and design Immersive International Virtual Field Experiences (IIVFEs,) which promote global understanding in their classrooms and teaching contexts. Some examples of IIVFEs can be found here or below.

GOAL

We seek to recruit teachers from rural, underserved, and/or Title I schools. Participating educators will generate global-local connections, engage in international cultural-content development, build shared cultural experiences, and have foreign language exposure. The goal is for participating educators to launch international innovations through the design and implementation of Immersive International Virtual Field Experiences (IIVFE) that encourage intercultural understanding. Read more about our vision here.

PROFESSIONAL LEARNING SERIES

K-12 Educators will create digitally innovative instructional materials during collaborative workshops while building a shared repository of lesson ideas. Once completed, participants will share their experiences in their schools, with colleagues, and communities, extending global competencies and digital literacies across grade levels and content areas.

JOIN US

Worlds of Experience invites applications from K-12 teachers for a series of three workshops. We seek to recruit teachers from rural, underserved, and/or Title I schools for the Spring cohort. Educators will work collaboratively to design and implement an IIVFE for their students and share the process with participating educators and schools. Our Spring cohort is FULL.
