Kim Leon, MA
Hello! My name is Kim, and I first joined the lab in Spring 2019 as an undergraduate. I am currently a doctoral student in the Psychology Department in the Cognition and Neural Systems program. I have been lucky enough to work on a variety of projects in the L4 Lab. These projects have included the development of an assessment tailored to bilingual children; VAULT, a treatment study for late-talking toddlers; and POWER, a longitudinal study looking at working memory and its relation to academic achievement. Currently, I assist with the POWER study.
My own research interests are focused on how to best support bilingualism in children. Thus, I aspire to become a bilingual speech-language pathologist so that my work can be informative for bilingual children with and without language disorders. More broadly, I am interested in language, word learning and cognition. Alongside that, I aim to follow an equitable learner-centered learning approach in my teaching.
