I selected a course, but I’m not really sure it is the right course for me. What should I do?

I think I have a transfer course that should be considered equivalent to a Foundations Writing course (WRIT 101/107, WRIT 102/108, or WRIT 109H). What should I do?

Typically, we do not accept international transfer courses. However, you can submit a Course Equivalency Request to the Office of Registrar. 

Why did I get placed into WRIT 106? Can I start with WRIT 107?

Our International Foundations Writing Evaluation (iFWE) was designed by experts in second-language writing and writing placement, who have determined that students with certain test scores benefit from taking WRIT 106 before progressing to WRIT 107.

WRIT 106, as stated in the course description, helps students to establish a better understanding of English/American educational practices, especially with writing and reading tasks.

My status is “In Review.” How long will it take for my iFWE to be reviewed and I receive my final placement?

Writing Placement Advisors review iFWE responses as we receive them, but because two advisors must review your response before a final placement is determined, it could take up to two weeks for your placement to be updated.

Note: Due to system updates, we do not actively review iFWE responses from September through November and February through April.
