Thanks to long-time choir member (and often Board President) Paul Sheppard, the Faculty-Staff Choir has recordings of nearly every one of our concerts since 2017. Enjoy!
May 2022 was our first in-person concert since the COVID pandemic began. We had been singing indoors with masks. It felt WONDERFUL to sing in the open air without masks!
During COVID, we had to be extra creative to perform as a choir. Our director, Robin (here known as Bob), led rehearsals from their home. We all joined and sang along to our parts, but on mute so the lag didn't cause any confusion or interference. We then recorded each of our vocal parts separately. We sang along to parts tracks Robin sent us. We listened through headphones and recorded only our voices. We sent these vocal tracks to Robin, who worked amazing magic to edit all of the voices into a single track. COVID choir at its finest! Without the creativity of our fearless director, the choir would have fallen silent these years.

This is our earliest recording of a COVID concert. Did we improve between May 2020 and December 2021? You be the judge! Please see the December 2021 comments to see how we functioned as a choir during COVID!
Would we have sung differently had we known this would be our last concert together for years? I'm not so sure. Singing is about being in community, about giving the best you can give, about being present together in the moment. So here we are, performing in full presence for you. It is the last time we will do so until December 2021.
