2022 Scientific Session: Wildfires
This scientific session aims to educate and energize University of Arizona (UA) student researchers by showcasing campus-wide research expertise on wildfire science. The agenda includes faculty talks that address how wildfires impact climate change, the environment, human health, and society. The agenda will highlight student research through a poster session. The intended outcomes include peer network building and an appreciation for the broader context of an individual’s student research project.

JPL Scientist Olga Kalashnikova, Ph.D.
Olga V. Kalashnikova is the aerosol scientist on the Multi-angle Imaging SpectroRadiometer (MISR) team at JPL, and the Science Co-I on the Multi-Angle Imager for Aerosols (MAIA) and the Earth surface Mineral dust source InvesTigation (EMIT) NASA's Earth Venture Instrument missions. Since 2010 Olga has participated in and contributed to a number of NASA field campaigns as the member of the Airborne Multiangle SpectroPolarimetric Imager (AirMSPI) team. Olga acted as the AirMSPI Aerosol Science Lead during the ACEPOL 2017 field campaign, and had the role of mission scientist, and ER-2 aircraft PI during the joint NASA/NOAA FIREX-AQ Field Campaign that took place in the Western United States in the summer of 2019.
