The Arizona 4-H State Shoot Committee has decided to replace the in-person State Shoot with a postal match in response to the COVID-19 Restrictions. To help move onto "Doing" 4-H shooting sports education projects, the Arizona 4-H Shooting Sports Committee is excited to provide an opportunity to focus on the education and recreational aspects of Shooting Sports.
In place of an in-person State Shooting Sports Competition, we will be conducting a freepostal match contest that will run from March 15 through May 28. Arizona 4-H invites all counties/tribal to encourage 4-H members to participate. The rules are relatively simple, and we will rely upon the guidance of leaders and advisors to avoid confusion and problems—more information on regulations will be provided once registration is submitted.

Awards Available
In addition to statewide recognition, the AZ 4-H Shooting Sports Committee will be providing County
and Club programs with specialized awards to use for their participants. Due to the disconnected
nature of this event, we plan to utilize a Modified Danish System of Award Ribbons to recognize the
variety of settings and conditions that participants will compete in while still being able to recognize
our highest-scoring participants.
Awards to participants:
The top three scorers from the combined Junior, Intermediate, and Senior divisions within each
category will be selected. Medal awards will be provided for each category.
Awards will be distributed from the participating UACE County offices at the end of June 2021 for the
county to distribute.
Range etiquette and target scoring will conform to the rule books of the National Rifle Association of
America, except as otherwise specified. Under no circumstances may any marks be made on fired
target fronts other than by projectiles. Marked or plugged targets will be disqualified.
The AZ 4-H Shooting Sports State Shoot Committee is chaired by Juan Arias.
