COUNTDOWN TO THE ROUNDTABLE

SLAT Student Association Co-Chairs’ Message

As the boundaries of language research, leadership and education continuously expand, interdisciplinary collaboration has become a necessary driving force informing our practices.

We warmly welcome you to the 24th SLAT Roundtable on Interdisciplinarity in Language Research, Leadership, and Pedagogical Practices, which will be held on February 7-8, 2025 at the University of Arizona. Scholars from all over the world will come together to share ideas, projects and insights on this timely theme.

We are also thrilled to welcome Keynote speaker Dr. Theresa Catalano and Plenary speaker Dr. Béatrice Dupuy who will share their professional insights on how interdisciplinary frameworks can inspire more dynamic and adaptable practices.

Join us as we collectively reflect on how to leverage interdisciplinarity to transform what we (can) do as applied linguists, leaders and educators. We hope that you find this conference a welcoming space to gain new perspectives and to exchange ideas amongst colleagues familiar and new.

Roundtable Committee's Message

Another year, another… 2-day Roundtable!

This year’s Roundtable Committee (Subin, Bernard, Sara & Lorraine) wishes to express its deepest gratitude to everyone who made this event possible.

A special thank you to Debbie Shon, our amazing SLAT coordinator, for her invaluable guidance and patience throughout the planning and organization of this event. We also extend our thanks to the 2023-2024 Roundtable Committee, Dilara Avcı, Angus Leydic, Gözde Durgut, and Mukkades Coban-Postaci, for generously sharing their work documents and tables, which made our planning process so much smoother. We are deeply grateful to Dr. M’Balia Thomas for offering essential advice on the importance of early preparation. Our heartfelt appreciation goes to Dr. Béatrice Dupuy and Dr. Theresa Catalano for enthusiastically agreeing to speak on our theme Interdisciplinarity in Language Research, Leadership, and Pedagogical Practices. We look forward to listening to you. A big thank you to our fearless moderators and volunteers from SLAT and beyond, who stepped up to help make this event run seamlessly. Finally, we sincerely thank all of our presenters. Some of you have traveled from the far corners of the globe to share your amazing work. This event would not be possible without you.
