What is Unity with Diversity?

Unity with Diversity is an after-school club started in January 2017 through the hard work and perseverance of students at John H. Glenn. The goal of its members is to promote equality and justice for all individuals regardless of ethnicity, economic status, race, or gender through historical exploration, honest and open discussions of current events, and community service.

Where did the name “Unity with Diversity” come from?

The club’s name is a paraphrased excerpt of a quote said by peaceful activist Mahatma Gandhi; “Our ability to reach unity in diversity will be the beauty and the test of our civilization.” We feel that peace and open-mindedness are essential to promoting education, unity, and acceptance in our school community.
