Mandated Speech/language services for children with special needs.

Program Includes:

Complete Diagnostic Evaluations : In the areas of receptive and expressive vocabulary and language skills, articulation and/or fluency skills. Tests are administered yearly for annual review in the spring.

Individual Educational Programs (IEP) : Based on Committee of Special Education 's (CSE) recommendation measurable annual goals are formulated for each child . Program modifications, testing accomodations , test scores, management needs and other individualized information are included in the student's IEP.

Parental Conferences: On progress, learning strategies, home activities.

Homework: Given as needed to reinforce language skills and speech sound productions.

Speech Improvement Program At Harley Avenue

Eligibility: Students must fall below criterion for chronological age in the areas of articulation . Class is one time weekly in a small group.

This program requires home practice of classroom material for success.

Homework: Given to reinforce speech sounds and other presented speech/language skills.

Parental Communication: In speech notebook weekly. Parental signature after each practice is encouraged. Emails and phone calls are encouraged.
