Welcome to English 10 Honors! Students, prepare yourselves for a rigorous literature-based course that covers a variety of fiction, non-fiction, poetry and drama that will prepare you for future advanced courses. To be successful, expect to be active in literary and rhetorical analysis, interpretation, and evaluation of literature, poetry, and drama that challenges ideas and views through discussion, journals, essays, projects, and group work. In this course, you will develop effective academic writing skills and conventions (i.e., essay writing, research writing, response writing, on demand writing, and language usage), and speaking/listening abilities (i.e., introductory speeches, informative speeches, oral interpretation, and character monologue).
