Answers

1) Q :What is Leveled Literacy Intervention(LLI)?

A: LEVELED LITERACY INTERVENTION: OVERVIEW

The Fountas & Pinnell Leveled Literacy Intervention System (LLI) is a small-group, supplementary literacy intervention designed to help teachers provide powerful, daily, small-group instruction for the lowest achieving students at their grade level. Through systematically designed lessons and original, engaging leveled books, LLI supports learning in both reading and writing, helps students expand their knowledge of language and words and how they work. The goal of LLI is to bring students to grade level achievement in reading.

Lessons across the seven systems progress from level A (beginning reading in kindergarten) through level Z (represents competencies at the middle and secondary school level) on the F&P Text Level Gradient™.

LLI is designed to be used with small groups of students who need intensive support to achieve grade-level competency

2) Q: What is Wilson Just Words?

A Wilson Just Words® provides a curriculum for the study of word structure through the six syllable types in English and the most common Latin roots.

It is a highly explicit, multisensory decoding and spelling program for students in grades 4 -12 and adults who do not require intensive intervention but do require explicit decoding and spelling instruction due to word-level deficits.

Just Words is based on the research validated Wilson Reading System® and moves at an accelerated pace by focusing primarily on the concentrated study of word structure for reading and spelling.

3) Q:What is Writer's Workshop

A: Writer's Workshop is an interdisciplinary writing technique which can build students' fluency in writing through continuous, repeated exposure to the process of writing.

Teachers can introduce elements of Writer's Workshop at any elementary grade. Ideally, however, the process begins in Kindergarten.
