Three Rules for Literary Success:
1. Read a lot.
2. Write a lot.
3. Read a lot more, write a lot more.
We follow a workshop model in our classroom. Each session begins with a mini lesson where a specific reading strategy or skill is taught.
Students then get an opportunity to practice the skill or strategy independently or with a partner. At this time, individual reading conferences or more specified... small group reading instruction will take place.
We end our literacy lesson with a whole class sharing session!
