Student Absence

If a student is absent from school due to illness, they should make every attempt to find out what work was done in class and what the homework assignment was. If a student feels well enough to complete the work, it is to their advantage to do so and stay current with the assignments, especially the assigned reading. However, sometimes students do not feel well enough to complete any work. A due date will be agreed upon with the student to make up the missing work. Emailing me early in the day when a student is absent is a great way to find out the work. Parents and students can then decide together how much, if any, work will be done that day.

Work will not be provided in advance for students going on vacation while school is in session. Students will likely be given pages to read from our current novel to stay up to date with the reading. All additional work will be assigned and given a due date based on how long the student was absent upon return. Any work not completed by the due date will receive a zero for each assignment and will decrease the student's quarter grade.
