We are looking forward to working with you!  You are going to love 6th grade math!!


Topics Covered:


Supplies:  You are expected to come to class prepared every day with the following:


Attendance:  Students are expected to be in class and on time every day.  If you are absent, it is your responsibility to make sure that you make up missed work.  If you have a scheduled music lesson, please come and see me before you go to your lesson.  You are responsible for the material taught in class that day.


Participation:  Students are expected to actively participate in class.  It is important that you ask questions, add to discussions and present your ideas in a thoughtful, respectful manner.  Students should always ask questions if they do not understand what is being presented.


Homework:  Homework will be "very lightly" assigned this year. I think it's necessary for kids to spend time w/ family, friends, sports, etc after school. They need time to "just be kids" and unwind rather than EVERYONE  being stressed doing homework.


Assessments: Quizzes will be given approx every 10 days. Tests will be given at the end of a unit. Tests will be announced at least a week in advance.  There is usually more than one test per marking period.


Extra Help:  Extra help will be provided on WEDNESDAYduring ½ lunch 6th period.   Students do not have to sign up in advance.  


Grading Policy:  All grades will be posted in ESchool within a couple of days.  Grades will not be posted until the material is handed back to the student.  If there is a mistake on a piece of graded work, please bring it to me so that the necessary adjustments/corrections can be made.  Please make sure that you periodically check ESchool to know your progress.

Preparedness & Participation  5%
