Welcome to our Class Website!

This website will be used as a web portal and communication tool, as well as an extra resource to locate up-to-date copies of assignments, worksheets, and supplemental work and videos that you can easily access and/or print at home!

All students should have a binder or notebook, pen or pencil, planner, school-provided calculator, and Chromebook! (It is CRUCIAL that all students taking the Coding elective bring their Chromebooks to class every day, charged and ready to go, in order to complete the lessons and receive credit!!! Without a Chromebook, student progress cannot be logged, thus no credit will be given.)

About Miss Maddalena:

I grew up on Long Island and went to Mepham High School in the Bellmore-Merrick school district until I attended and graduated from SUNY Cortland with my Bachelor's Degree in Adolescent Education for Mathematics. I was involved in sports my whole life and much like sports teams, I believe classes are most successful when we work together as one cohesive and supportive unit. This is my first year teaching at Elwood and I could not be more excited to get to know every one of my students inside and outside of the classroom! I am my students' #1 fan and they should expect my classroom to foster a supportive and fun environment that encourages all kids to become motivated, confident, and passionate learners. There are no silly questions so students should feel comfortable asking for clarification on anything they do not understand, and they should always remember that all students are valued, important, and have something to contribute in my classroom. I look forward to watching all of you grow as both responsible young adults and driven academic scholars.
