GRADING
"All Social Studies teachers use a "total points" method for determining grades, that is, the total points earned divided by the total points available represents a percentage which represents the student's grade for the quarter. For this course, approximately 60% of the total quarter points will come from EXAMS while approximately 30% of the total quarter points will come from ASSIGNMENTS, and approximately 10% of the total quarter points will come from HOMEWORK.
Total points available and these percentages are approximate and may deviate depending upon the length of the quarter, the extent of the material covered and the methods the teacher determines is most appropriate to best assess the material in question. The instructor will make clear to students whether an activity that is scheduled will be counted in the ‘EXAM’ category or the ‘ASSIGNMENT’ category"
MIDTERM AND FINAL EXAMS
The Global History midterm and final exam will be given during the scheduled exam weeks. You will receive notification of the exam details.
EXTRA HELP
Please see the teacher to make an appointment for extra help. You must make your appointment a few days in advance.
HOMEWORK and CLASSWORK
Assignments are vital to class instruction. All assignments will be posted on the google classroom. Late work will not be accepted and can not be made up. Make sure you copy down the assignments when assigned and check the google classroom on a daily basis.
PERSONAL ABSENCE
In the event that you are legally absent from class, it is your responsibility to make up the work that you have missed. Always remember to check google classroom, remind and check with a classmate for work that you may have missed. Any work that is not made up after a week's time is an automatic zero. Exams and quizzes must be made up the next school day.
If you have any questions or concerns during the time of your absence, please do not hesitate to email me! Any work missed due to an illegal absence is an automatic zero. Make sure you review the school's attendance policy regarding legal and illegal absences
