Document Cameras

Many classrooms are equipped with Hovercam document cameras.

HOVERCAM INFORMATION

Tips for Using the Hovercam:

Pull the camera arm completely up (you may hear a slight click) before opening the arm.
Make sure it is plugged into a USB port in your computer. (It doesn’t matter which USB port you use.)
- If you don’t see a blue light on the base of the camera when it is opened, it isn’t plugged in.
The top light can be turned on and off using the switch on the top edge of the camera. This may be helpful when using glossy specimens.
Anything under the camera can be photographed and saved using the red button that looks like a camera (in scan mode).
Annotations can be applied to live video as well as pictures that you take using the Hovercam.
Every image and video can be saved in the archive.
If the camera is out of focus, you can adjust it by using the small wheel on the arm of camera (although it usually auto-focuses)
