About Us

Mrs. Tiernan has always had a passion for teaching and working with children.  She has her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and her masters in Computer and technology in Education. 

She started her career in 1992 in South Huntington School District teaching 4th and 5th grade.   She took some time off to raise her three boys and started her career back up in Elwood in 2010.  She has been a substitute teacher, tutor as well as a Teacher Assistant at Boyd and now in a roll of the librarian at Harley.  

Mrs Tiernan has always had a passion for children literacy and loves working in the Library.  

Mrs. Tiernan has lived her whole life in  Elwood  and raised her 3 sons through the Elwood school district as well.   In her spare time she loves reading and watching her sons play sports in college.  She can be found on the beach curled up reading a good book!
