The following document lays out all aspects of the AP Research Assessment Task. Students are required to write an Academic Paper (4,000-5,000 words) and complete a 15-20 minute Presentation with Oral Defense of their work to a panel of 3 judges (plus the AP Research teacher). The Oral Defense consists of answering 3 questions (provided on the POD questions page) that highlight the student's method, new understanding, and growth as a researcher.
