FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCE

HOME AND CAREERS - 6TH GRADE

GOALS: To acquire skills and knowledge to meet present and future responsibilities as a family member, consumer, and wage earner. The goal is to educate students to think constructively, make sound decisions, solve problems, and manage resources.

EXPECTATIONS:

  • Be on time and ready for work
  • Respect yourselves, others, and property
  • Cooperate and follow directions
  • Work responsibly and cooperatively

CURRICULUM:

Home and Careers is organized around four Process Skills: Communication, Leadership, Management, and Thinking. The process skills are then taught through a variety of topics:
