Community Resources



  • DASH, (Diagnostic, Assessment and Stabilization Hub), 90 Adams Avenue, Hauppauge, NY 11788, 631/ 952-3333 (24/7/365 hotline number): can be accessed for:

  • Children ages 5 and older, adolescents, and adults

  • Immediate assessment, counseling and care management intervention for the individual’s need (i.e. mental health, substance abuse)

  • Mobile Response Team (MRT), which includes nurse practitioners, registered nurses, social workers credentialed alcoholism and substance abuse counselors and peer specialists who will deliver crisis care within the community (i.e. within schools, homes, businesses, and other locations)

  • Connection to further and more appropriate services, if needed.

  • Together with Town of Huntington Youth Bureau, the Long Island Crisis Center counselors provide free, confidential crisis intervention counseling 24/7 for Huntington Township residents

    • Youth Directions and Alternatives (Y.D.A) works with our staff to plan student groups and help students connect with their larger peer group through Friday night drop-ins and trips through out the year: http://www.ydaonline.org/theyda.cfm

    • Sanctuary is a program designed to help students who are in distress in their home lives. They provide a safe haven for youth in extreme situations, but also work with students and parents in our school by providing short term family counseling: http://hybydri.org/Sanctuary.html
