Virtual Calming Room

and

Mental Health Resources

Sometimes life can be overwhelming and it can be hard to work through difficult times. The Elverado High School Virtual Calming Room was designed to assist students with managing emotions. I hope these tools will provide helpful outlets and practices for when life gets tough. Look around, find what works for you and add it to your daily life to help you better manage and process difficult emotions.

Your School Counselor, Mrs. Sabens, is at school each day to assist you with processing emotions and to support you in your times of need. Please reach out for support as needed. Sometimes a student's needs are greater than we can address in the regular school setting, when this happens a referral to an outside provider will be made. Families can find local providers through their insurance agency and/or this resource.

WHAT IS MENTAL HEALTH

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices. It is important to know that mental health is more than just the absence of a mental disorder or disability. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.
