The Workshop on the Origins and Habitability of the Galilean Moons II aims to establish the link between our knowledge of the present natures of Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto, and their formation conditions and habitability. The goal is to prepare for the arrival of the ESA/JUICE and NASA/Europa-Clipper missions in the Jovian system. This workshop, held at Earth-Life Science Institute (ELSI), Japan, is the second of a series to be held at 2-3 year intervals before the arrivals of the two missions around Jupiter, with the first one held in Marseille, France. In particular, this second workshop will focus on research that unravels the formation processes and habitability of the Galilean moons through their surface materials, surface geological processes, and interior structures. This workshop is hosted by Earth-Life Science Institute (ELSI) of Institute of Science Tokyo, ESA, JAXA and SwRI.
