The day’s lesson
Lessons will generally follow the textbook, except for in cases where I teach a unit covering a specific topic. In order for unit topics to be effectively learned and retained, lessons will be taught out of order, and/or supplemental lessons will take the place of a textbook lesson. The content will adhere to the California Common Core State Standards for Algebra I.
Tests will be given every 10 lessons, with a Tutorial review the day before the test. In the case of a unit, quizzes will be given throughout the unit, and an assessment will be given at the end of the unit. We will still have a tutorial review the day before the assessment. The two units I will be teaching focus on Inequalities (Mid-November until Christmas Break), and Functions (January to early February).
