DISCOVERING HISTORY IN A CREATIVE WAY!
DISCOVERING HISTORY IN A CREATIVE WAY!
Our students created their own lapbooks, where they collected and organized the most important features of each historical period. Through flaps, drawings, key words, and simple explanations, they were able to transform big historical ideas into clear and visual learning.
This hands-on project encouraged curiosity, creativity, and deeper understanding. By building their lapbooks step by step. Learning becomes meaningful when students can see it, create it, and make it their own!
To truly understand the past, we first need to know when each historical period begins and ends. That’s why our journey through History started with the creation of a timeline.
We started with the first historical period, which begins with the appearance of humans: Prehistory.
To better understand this stage, we watched a video about its different subperiods: the Paleolithic, the Neolithic and the Metal Ages.
After that, students completed a fill-in-the-gap activity using sentences with the most important facts about Prehistory. This helped them identify key ideas and reinforce their understanding in a simple and engaging way.
We continued our journey through the Ancient Age. During this period, humans began to develop civilizations and started living together in organized communities.
Many important buildings were constructed during this time, and students explored some of the most famous ones. Learning about these monuments helped them understand how people lived and what they were able to build in the past.

Next, we explored the Middle Ages, a period when the feudal system began.
To understand how society was organized at that time, students reviewed the feudal pyramid, which shows the different social groups and their roles. This activity helped them understand how people lived and how power was distributed during this historical period.
Finally, we have studied the Modern Age and the Contemporary Age, learning about some of the most important features of each historical period.
In the Modern Age, we talked about exploration, the discovery of new lands, and the contact between different cultures after the voyages of explorers such as Christopher Columbus.
In the Contemporary Age, we learned about important changes in society like technology, industry, electricity...
