SEA ANIMALS

First of all, we introduce the topic by means of an enganging song about sea animals food chain. After that, we talk about the animals that appear in the song by playing several activities with the flashcards. 

After introducing the new vocabulary it's time to put it into practice in small groups. Each group do an activity focusing each time on some specific skills.

This is an adapted material from the traditional game, domino. In this case, they match the picture with the word. They need to read the card to know which picture matches with it. They also name the word to reinforce speaking. 

In this activity students do a puzzle with each animal word. First graders need to practice spelling because English becomes difficult to write. They get aware of how each animal is spelled. 

The main objective of this activity is that students learn how to write the sea animal words. They have a card with the animals pictures and words and they must write it in the whiteboard trying to spell them correctly.
