Elmwood Village Charter Schools (EVCS) is seeking a relationship-focused servant leader with a deep commitment to learning, continuous improvement, and community partnership. As we transition from a shared-leadership model to a single-leader structure, the incoming Executive Director will hold unifying responsibility for the academic, operational, financial, and cultural coherence across our network.
Partnering closely with the Board of Trustees and the leadership team, this leader will steward our mission, drive multi-year strategic growth, and ensure our schools continue to thrive as diverse, peaceful, and high-achieving learning environments in Buffalo, NY.

The Executive Director will champion whole-organization leadership, balancing big-picture vision with operational excellence.
Executive Strategy: Partner with the Board to set clear academic, growth, and financial goals; implement network-wide accountability systems; and serve as the primary liaison to the broader Buffalo and national educational communities.
Academic Excellence: Collaborate with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction to reinforce standards of excellence and ensure strong performance across all campuses.
Operational and Fiscal Stability: Collaborate with the Director of Operations to manage charter renewals, ensure strict legal compliance, leverage data for continuous improvement, and build a scalable infrastructure for long-term growth.
Cultural Coherence: Foster a transparent, trust-based environment through clear staff communication; clarify decision-making rights; and deepen relationships with families and community partners.

An Authentic Servant Leader: Someone who leads with empathy, honors diverse school cultures, and prioritizes the social, emotional, and academic needs of students.
A Collaborative Unifier: A leader who values active listening—including a dedicated 90-day listening tour—and can coalesce diverse perspectives into a shared direction.
An Experienced Executive: Proven capability in managing cross-functional teams, multi-site budgets, and scalable organizational structures.
10+ years of senior leadership experience (experience supervising principals or senior organizational leaders required).
Master’s Degree required (MBA, MPA, M.Ed., or related field preferred).
Demonstrated success leading multi-site organizations, charter school networks, or high-functioning social sector organizations is strongly preferred.
