My Journey to Elmwood Schools

I grew up helping on my family beef farm.  From the age of 9, I began to show cattle and found an interest in the agricultural industry.  Through my showing experience, I had the opportunity to learn many skills such as hard work and the importance of dedication.  I attended Mondovi High School where I was active in their FFA program and continued to fall in love with the agricultural industry.

Once I had graduated, I decided that I would attend the University of Wisconsin - River Falls.  During my second year of college and 3 degree changes, I had landed in Agricultural Education.  Upon graduation, I was unsure if I wanted to become a teacher, seeing I had so little knowledge.  I took a job working at a local cooperative in the energy department, where I learned many of valuable skills and basics about being in the "real world."  But, I soon I would have a job opportunity that I would be offered and just could not say no to.

The fall after college graduation, I took a part-time teaching position in Arcadia, WI.  I went on to teach here for two years where I specialized in Food Science, Animal Science and a couple of Environmental Science courses.  During this time, I met a man who would turn out to be my husband down the road!  With this new adventure with my best friend, I was able to attend events at Elmwood Schools and fell in love with the students and atmosphere.  I had decided that I was GOING to be the next Elmwood Agri-science teacher.

A year later, the current Agri-science teacher at the time retired and I was jumping for joy when I had heard it was time to put in my application.  After all was said and done, it is safe to say that I AM the Elmwood Agri-science teacher... and I LOVE MY JOB!!

Personal

My wonderful husband, Joe Baier Jr., and I love to camp and spend time with our two gold retrievers, Kady and Coe.  Outside of school and camping, I am working on my green thumb!  Being an Agri-science teacher, this is something that most people assume I am good at, however this is definitely an area in which I look forward to grow in right along side our Elmwood students.  Other things that I really are cooking and riding my bike!  Oh... and SWEETS! :)

Personally, I am excited to be a member of a community that is so caring and supportive to other members, business owners, farmers, teachers, and especially their STUDENTS!  It is amazing to watch everyone come together.
