In an effort to further strengthen our network access safeguards, Elms College has implemented Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on various software systems. MFA is an additional layer of security used in conjunction with user IDs, passwords, Single Sign-On and VPN.With the implementation of MFA, when you enter your Elms email and password into one of these systems, Microsoft Authenticator will send a message to your smart phone or other mobile device prompting a response in order to gain access. DUO will prompt you for VPN access.

Multi-factor authentication (MFA), sometimes referred to as two-factor authentication (2FA), or 2-Step Verification, is a method where users obtain access by providing two separate factors to identify themselves.
Verifying your identity using a second factor (like your phone or other mobile device) prevents anyone but you from logging in, even if they know your password.
