Student Software
Elms College students can purchase popular software applications at reduced, educational pricing for download on their personal computers. The software is available at elms.onthehub.com. Please note that a valid Elms College email address is required to purchase any software package.
Software titles vary and may change at any time without prior notice.
Anti-Virus Software
Anti-virus software is required on all student computers. There are free products available such as Microsoft Security Essentials for Windows and AVG Free. Students should consider using a malware scanner, such as Malwarebytes or Spybot, which also offer free versions. These are not the same as virus protection, but are used to supplement virus programs. Malware is a constant threat and thousands of new viruses are created every day. Please use caution when browsing the Web.
Do not download illegal or objectionable materials
Do not use share sites or bit torrents
Do not open suspicious emails or attachments
Do not click on links or ads from unknown websites
Computing Network
Elms College computers operate on a Microsoft Windows network. All lab and classroom computers currently use Microsoft Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 2016. If you bring your own computer to campus, you should purchase productivity software that is MS Office compatible. This will make submitting assignments and projects much easier.
