This course fills the Practical Arts graduation requirement
IMPORTANT TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION:
Students must have access to transportation. The school district does not provide transportation to job sites.
Students wishing to receive priority consideration for a parking spot due to enrollment in this program must submit their parking application by the deadline for the general lottery. Spots will be assigned at the start of the school year once course enrollment has been verified.
Students who have successfully completed Career Internship I can continue to expand their knowledge of their chosen career field through class and on site job experiences. Students are also allowed a PE waiver to fulfill the job requirement portion of the class. This will allow students the opportunity to go to their job during the school day. Students will prepare career portfolios and, through a variety of projects, explore additional career competencies such as career investigation, interpersonal communication, interviewing, leadership and entrepreneurship. Participation in extracurricular competitions is recommended.
IMPORTANT EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION:
Students must remain employed for the entire school year at a job site that meets the following requirements: JOB SITE REQUIREMENTS
Students must work an average of 15 hours per week and submit documentation in order to receive credit for the job portion of the course.
Students must follow the rules outlined in the STUDENT AGREEMENT
The responsibilities of all parties (students, employers, teacher, and parent) are outlined in the Career Internship TRAINING AGREEMENT
Your teacher will review these documents and work with you and your employer to obtain signatures at the start of the school year.
